Welcome to the Black Rooster Lounge & Gallery!
The Black Rooster Lounge & Gallery gets its name from an artistic tile motif in the floor of the General Francis Marion Hotel’s famous card room depicting a rooster. The card room and tile motif date from 1928, when the hotel was constructed. The Gallery is located on the ground floor of the newly renovated General Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Marion, Virginia.
With colorful art all around, it would be hard not to enjoy a glass of fine wine, a cold brew on tap, or a tasty appetizer whipped up by Executive Chef Marcus A. Blackstone and his staff! The Black Rooster, just across the Hotel lobby from our restaurant, is a gathering place for locals and hotel guests alike.

This Month in the Gallery
The Black Rooster Gallery features Smyth County artists Tom Brown, Jerry Murphy, and Debbie Grimm Yates with a variety of mediums. Brown of Chilhowie is a watercolor artist and Murphy also of Chilhowie is a fine art photographer. Yates of Konnarock is a well-known potter in our region. Their work will be at the Black Rooster Gallery located inside the General Francis Marion Hotel & Conference Center beginning this Friday evening for the Marion Live After Five Art Walk through September 9th.
